Sponsorships

It's hard to believe, but German Shepherd Rescue actually loses money on almost every dog that we place!  This is because the minimum donation that we ask ($250) often does not cover the costs that we incurred to get that particular dog into good health.  Many times dogs come to us with injuries, illnesses, special needs, or a myriad of behavioral challenges -- all of which require an investment of resources so that the dog can be rehabilitated.  A broken leg, for example, typically costs over $1000 to repair... a case of kennel cough (which many dogs contract at local shelters) can require two weeks of isolation at a veterinary hospital... a tumor removal usually costs in excess of $800.  The list goes on and on.  And, believe it or not, German Shepherd Rescue actually has to PAY bail out fees in order to rescue dogs from public shelters!
