SponsorshipsIt's
hard to believe, but German Shepherd Rescue actually loses money on
almost every dog that we place! This is because the minimum
donation that we ask ($250) often does not cover the costs that we
incurred to get that particular dog into good health. Many
times dogs come to us with injuries, illnesses, special needs, or a
myriad of behavioral challenges -- all of which require an
investment of resources so that the dog can be rehabilitated.
A broken leg, for example, typically costs over $1000 to repair... a
case of kennel cough (which many dogs contract at local shelters)
can require two weeks of isolation at a veterinary hospital... a
tumor removal usually costs in excess of $800. The list goes
on and on. And, believe it or not, German Shepherd Rescue
actually has to PAY bail out fees in order to rescue dogs from
public shelters!
The only way that we can continue to assist
the hundreds of shepherds that come to us every year is through the
support of generous sponsors and donors. If you are interested
in becoming a sponsor for a particular dog that is in our care, OR,
if you wish to be on ongoing sponsor to make it possible for us to
help more dogs, please contact us for
information about our sponsorship opportunities. Your gift is
tax deductible as allowed by law and you will TRULY be saving more
precious lives through your pledge.
