Okay, so Duke is not
a classic shepherd, but when we heard about his sad situation, we
knew that we had to help.
Duke is a German Shepherd and
Handsome Stranger mix. He is around 7 or 8 years old.
Duke was found living under a freeway overpass. According to
the person that rescued him, he stayed there day after
day...patiently waiting for someone to return for him. No
one did.
We believe that Duke was dumped
at the side of the road because he remained in the same place like
any loyal dog would. Duke is around 115 pounds and needs to
lose about 10 of this in order to feel comfortable. He loves
all other dogs, but thinks that cats are fun to chase. He is
truly a gentle giant that would like to put all 115 pounds of
himself in your lap if you would let him.
Duke knows how to sit, shake
hands and walk on a leash very nicely. He loves to go for
rides in the car and drool all over the windows as he hangs his
head out. He would make a great pet for a family, providing
that there were no small toddlers (he would knock them over and he
doesn't like to be climbed on top of).
We are sure that there is someone
who will love and appreciate loyal Duke as much as we do. He
is trying to be patient, but he really wants someone to call his
own. Could this be you?
Duke is
currently in a boarding facility. If you wish to meet him,
please send an email to the German Shepherd Rescue at gsrescue@gsrescue.org
or call (818) 558-7560 and ask how you can arrange to meet Duke.

"Are you my family?"
