Sadly, Ginger was turned into the rescue because she was barking at the neighbor's cat, who would sit on the wall and tease her.  The neighbors complained about the barking, and animal control was called.  Even though Ginger never barked at nighttime, and only barked when the cat was on the wall, the neighbors still registered complaints.  After several complaints, Ginger's owners were told that they would have to get rid of this loving, four-legged family member.  They were heartbroken.
