Pepper is a 9 year old black
and tan female. Her owner's daughter has leukemia, and they
recently lost their home because of financial difficulties.
They had to move into a rental unit, along with their two
dogs. The landlord is allowing them to keep one of the dogs,
and they were forced to choose. Because the other dog is
aggressive and unadoptable, they felt that Pepper had a better
chance of finding a new home. This is very sad because
senior dogs also have a difficult time finding new homes, so
Pepper's situation does not look good.
The daughter is extremely ill,
and is going to be heartbroken when Pepper has to leave. The
owner received permission from his landlord to keep Pepper through
the holidays so that his daughter could spend one last Christmas
with her. However, after the holidays, they have promised
the landlord that they will be down to just one dog. That
means that Pepper doesn't have much time!
We are desperately looking for a
home for Pepper starting right after the holidays. We do not
think that Pepper will do well in a kennel environment, and we
hope that she will not spend her golden years at the rescue
waiting for a home. We are looking for a Christmas miracle
to find a wonderful home for this sweet dog. She is in excellent health and gets along nicely
with other non-aggressive dogs. Pepper is very well-behaved
and sweet. She is looking for a warm place to call home for
the rest of her years.
If you are interested in Pepper, please send an email to the
German Shepherd Rescue at gsrescue@gsrescue.org
or call (310) 204-4350 and ask how you can arrange to meet Pepper.
