Val is a sweet and loving 18
month old black and tan female. She is on the petite side,
weighing about 75 pounds. She is very friendly and loves to
meet new people. She is good with male dogs, but she would
prefer to be the only female dog in the household. We
believe that she is housebroken because she waits until she is out
of her kennel to do her business. Val is good on a leash. Val
was an emergency rescue from the West Valley animal shelter.
The West Valley animal shelter in Chatsworth just recently took in
75 dogs from a private owner! This huge number of dogs took
up every available kennel at the shelter, and it left very little
room for the other dogs that were already waiting there to find a
home. Because of the overload, the shelter was going to
start putting adoptable dogs to sleep if they were not adopted on
the first day that they were available to the public! Val's
day came up, and we were able to get her out of the shelter before
the unthinkable could happen to her. Sadly, there are many
more dogs at the West Valley shelter who are also in this
unfortunate circumstance. If you are interested in adopting
from a shelter, we urge you to check with the West Valley animal
shelter to see if the newest member of your family might be
waiting anxiously for you there.
