Xena is a loving and affectionate 3 year old black and tan female.  She is on the large side, weighing about 90 pounds.  She appears to be "German bred", with the very squared-off hips instead of the sloping hind quarters of the American bred shepherds.  Xena loves to go for walks and she heels well on a leash.  She would do best as an "only dog", because she likes to have all of the attention for herself.  Xena needs to go to a home without cats.

Although she was tied to a tree to most of her life by her previous owner, Xena is very forgiving and loves everyone she meets.  Xena's wish for the New Year is to find a home where she is a loved and treasured member of the family.
