Sometimes, we feel like the German Shepherd Rescue should be renamed the "Heartbreak Hotel"...

Big, sweet Ace watched the children in his family grow up over ten years' time.  He provided his family with lots of fun and amusement when he was a young puppy, protected them faithfully as he grew, and worshipped his master as only a German Shepherd can.  Ace remained loyal to his beloved owner, even though he was never allowed to set foot in the house or rest his weary bones on a soft rug.

An Animal Control officer contacted us to relate this sad story: Now that Ace was ten years old, his family decided that they didn't want him any more because he was getting arthritis.  They called Animal Control to come take him away so that they could get a new puppy.  When the officer picked up Ace, no one from the family looked back as he was driven away...

No one from the family except Ace...

Ace is currently in a boarding facility.  If you wish to meet him, please send an email to the German Shepherd Rescue at gsrescue@gsrescue.org or call (714) 773-5915 and ask how you can arrange to meet Ace.
