Charger

Charger is a 5 year old black and tan male who was named for his owner's favorite football team, the San Diego Chargers.  He is black and tan with a cute expression that says, "Play with me! Play with me!".  He is full grown at 70-something pounds and has a nice coat.

Charger loves people of all sizes and shapes--but he plays a little too roughly for small children.  He's exuberant and strong, but eager to please.  Obviously, he has not had much training, but he is already beginning to respond to positive instruction.  Charger does very nicely with female dogs, but he will stand his ground with males if they challenge him.  We think that with the proper introduction he would be fine with a non-aggressive male dog his own size.  Charger has been receiving private training lessons on a regular basis.  He is doing very well, and is especially responsive when spoken to in soft yet firm tones, and when rewarded with praise and treats.  He is a happy boy with a lot of love to give.

Charger was turned in by his owners who claimed to have "no time for" him in their lives any longer.  Despite being dumped, Charger bears no hard feelings toward people, but he can't wait to get out of his kennel run and into a warm and loving home.

Charger is in a boarding facility because the rescue is full.  If you wish to meet him, please fill out an application by clicking on the button below.
