Chevy is a neutered
7-8 month old black and tan male German Shepherd
with special needs. He is a very nervous dog, but he has a
lot of love to give. He prefers women, as his previous owner
(a man) was abusive towards him. Chevy loves to play with
other dogs and cats. He loves attention from someone who
will make him feel safe and secure. He needs a lot of
individual attention. He is okay with older children who
know how to treat a dog with kindness.
We had posted Chevy to our
list of 'Private Party Adoptions' when we received a phone call
from his owners. If we could not take Chevy in that day,
they were bringing him right to the pound. Not wanting to
see this innocent boy end up losing his life because his owners
would not even help him to find a new home, we took him into our
boarding facility. So, now it is our responsibility to find
him a new home.
Chevy is in a foster home, and
they have learned a little bit more about him. He is very
affectionate, and loves to cuddle up next to you. Chevy is
extremely submissive, and is frightened by loud noises. He
needs someone that will take him for a lot of walks, because he
loves walks! He loves to follow the lead of other
non-aggressive dogs. Chevy needs a lot of interaction with
people. He likes to play, but if you throw a ball he is
afraid that it will hit him and he cowers. Chevy needs
someone to help boost his self confidence. He is crate
trained.
