German Shepherd Rescue of Los Angeles

Just when we thought we had seen everything, one of our volunteers discovered Braveheart languishing in an over-crowded animal shelter. 90% of his fur was completely gone, leaving red, irritated skin exposed on every part of his body. He looked like something out of a horror movie and he scratched incessantly. Despite his terrible condition and the obvious discomfort that he was in, Braveheart greeted our volunteer with a huge smile, bright eyes, and an enthusiastic wag of his bald, spindly tail. True to his noble breed, he was determined to show his courage, even though he was clearly hurting. This is just one reason that we love this breed!

Braveheart is in a foster home where he is recovering from a horrible yeast infection all over his whole body! What started as a simple skin allergy was left untreated for a long, long time by his previous owner. Can you imagine having every square inch of your skin ITCHING??? Braveheart was treated by our vet and is feeling much better. He did not have mange as suspected, and is already well on his way to getting his beautiful coat back.

Braveheart loves children and other friendly dogs. He has some obedience training, walks well on leash, and is learning to be housebroken. He is very devoted and eager to please. This is a wonderful, loving boy who will make a terrific family member for some very lucky family.
