Bucky is a loveable 4-5 year old black and tan male. He's not one of those dogs that falls in love with everybody they meet, but he gladly accepts kisses and hugs once he gets to know you. He's a real character and will blossom with consistent love and attention. He just needs someone who will be a little patient with him and let him warm up and bond with his new people on his own schedule.

Bucky is "smarter than the average bear", and is probably one of the most intelligent dogs that we have had at the rescue. He even out-foxed us at the rescue, and escaped from a locked gate that no other dog had ever figured out how to open! He definitely needs a secure yard. He loves going on walks and if you walk too slowly, he'll let you know by tugging on the leash.

Bucky is housebroken, but he will need a little time before he feels comfortable spending a lot of time indoors. He is very mellow, and would be a wonderful companion to an older person. He just wants to lay down next to his "buddy" and be good company. He's also good with some dogs. He is a perfect example of a rescued dog that has blossomed with all the love he gets up at the rescue. Now he needs a home of his own.

Come and meet him. And if you really want to get on his good side, the base of his tail and the white patch on his chest are his "sweet spots". Scratch him there and he's yours forever!
