Gretel

Gretel is a beautiful 3 year old black and tan female with classic markings.  She fits the breed-standard perfectly.  She weighs approximately 70 pounds, and looks like a show-quality German Shepherd.  She is very friendly, and loves people of all ages.  She is great with children.  She thrives on attention, and would love to be in a home where she has human companionship for most of the day.  She will easily get bored when left for long periods of time, and a secure yard is a must for this girl.

Gretel walks well on a leash, although hold on tight if a squirrel runs past!  She will chase small animals, so no cats or small dogs.  Gretel is an athletic dog who would do well in an active home.  She is intelligent, sensitive, and eager to please.  She is a bit of an "alpha female" when it comes to other dogs, but she would probably do fine with a more submissive male dog her own size.  Gretel is crate trained and she loves to spend time in her crate.

Gretel was rescued from an animal shelter.  She waited at the shelter for several weeks for her owner to come for her, or for someone to adopt her.  Gretel was very unhappy being in a kennel, and the shelter contacted us when they were going to have to put her down because she was not doing well there.
