Jake is the most loyal and
adoring fan you could ever hope to have. He's a handsome boy
with very strong, masculine looks. At around 80 pounds, he
is just the right weight. His coat is shiny and soft.
Jake would love to be in a home with another dog his own size (he
loves the ladies!) or as your only devoted friend. He does
not like cats or small dogs, and is somewhat selective about the
male dogs that he likes to play with. On the other hand,
Jake has visited the dog park and does very well in the "big
dog" area. He sits on command and he is housebroken. He
does not bark when left alone -- he just hangs out and sleeps
until someone returns to take him for his coveted walks.
Jake loves American cheese, "snausage"
treats and his squeaky fleece toy. He loves to go for long
walks and he's a great passenger in the car. Basically, Jake
wants to do whatever you want to do -- whatever makes you happy --
because he is acutely tuned in to his person. Jake is best
with adults, but older children who speak quietly could win his
heart as well. A quiet environment with someone who really
understands the intuitive, loving and loyal nature of the German
Shepherd would be his ideal home.
Jake was originally rescued from an animal
shelter. For several months after we rescued Jake, he was
well cared for by a foster mommy who had hoped to adopt him
permanently. However, he would not stop chasing the cat,
which made everyone in the family miserable. It was a very
sad day for everyone when Jake had to be returned to us.
Please help us reward this devoted dog with the security, safety
and comfort of a permanent, loving home.
Jake is currently in boarding.
If you are interested in adopting him, please fill out an
application by clicking on the button below, or send an email to

and ask about Jake. NOTE: There are two dogs named Jake at
the rescue, so please specify which one you are interested in
meeting.
