Lloyd

Lloyd was starving...

... but no one in this nice, middle-class neighborhood cared.  That is, except for one good soul who couldn't stand watching this scrawny, starving German Shepherd Dog wandering the streets.  He called us and asked if we could help him to rescue this boy.  The response, of course, was "Yes -- that's what we do, that's what German Shepherd Rescue is all about"!

Two of our volunteers rushed over to this kind man's house, where he had been feeding this poor dog to try to keep him alive.  We were appalled by what they saw:  A once beautiful, young dog, covered in fleas, dog bites, a terrible skin condition, and every rib showing.  And, guess what.  Like most noble German Shepherd Dogs, he was very forgiving!  It took only 5 minutes (and a hot dog or two) to convince him that he needed to come with us.  No problem!  Lloyd hopped right into the car and off he went to the vet.  The diagnosis?  Severe and unbelievable neglect.  And except for his skin problems, there is nothing else wrong with this sweet boy.  We've learned that he is housebroken and he will not dirty his run.  He's gentle and already knows how to give kisses.

Lloyd is now in a foster home, doing beautifully.  His foster Dad reports that Lloyd is near perfect -- he's housebroken, gentle, friendly, wonderful when left by himself... in short, just what a German Shepherd Dog should be!  He's gaining weight and is very happy to be in a loving home.

Lloyd would love to find a permanent home soon.  Please open your heart and your home and contact us right away.  You will be repaid tenfold by this wonderful and loving dog.  And if you would like to make a donation towards his recovery, please click here to learn more, and be sure to indicate that your donation is for Lloyd!

After spending 3 weeks in a wonderful foster home, Lloyd is now in a loving, permanent home.  He has gained weight, and has turned out to be a loyal, sweet and loving companion, with no hint of his previous life on the mean streets of Los Angeles.  His new mom says that he is perfect, and we would have to agree!  Another very happy ending for one of our "orphans".  Please consider fostering a dog.  Because of someone with a big heart and love to spare, Lloyd had a chance to get well and trust people again.  His foster dad made it possible for him to be placed so quickly in a permanent home.  We thank him from the bottom of our hearts!  Click here to learn more about being a foster home!

Here is Lloyd, clinging tightly to his foster dad!
