Max is a handsome 4-5 year old black and
tan male. He is a long-haired German Shepherd with a
beautiful coat.
He is a
very well-behaved dog. He loves people and just wants to be
petted and to give kisses in return. He is friendly with other
dogs and good with children. He is very quiet and docile, so he
would probably be good with cats. He was an outside dog, but he
wants to live inside with his new family for the rest of his
life. He will need to be potty trained, but he is smart and
should pick up housebreaking easily. Max walks nicely on a
leash and knows basic commands. As you can see from his pictures,
his toes point outwards on one front leg. This may look a little
funny, but doesn't seem to bother him, and he can run and play
with ease. He also rides very nicely in the car and will sit very
quietly while he waits for you to return.
When
he was turned into an animal shelter, Max showed signs of neglect.
The fur on his back and tail was thinning due to flea dermatitis,
a condition that is easily alleviated with flea-control products.
He was also very scared at having being abandoned in a noisy
animal shelter. Through the kindness of the workers at the
shelter, his coat is growing back in and his wounded spirit has
been mended. Max is now ready to find his forever family,
one who won't abandon him again.
Max
is in boarding. If you wish to meet him, please
