Meet Otto!
At only 4 months old, Otto found
himself in the animal shelter with a broken leg! We believe
that he was hit by a car, and suffered from a hairline fracture in
his front leg and a wound on his back leg requiring staple
sutures. Although his injuries were minor, no one wanted to
adopt him because he was "broken".
It was Otto's lucky day when a
rescuer saw him and decided to help this sweet boy. He will
be in a foster home for 10 days while his injuries heal, then he
will be looking for his new, permanent home. The vet says
that he will be as good as new, and will grow to be a very big
boy.
Otto is a beautiful boy with a
sweet face and an amazing sable coat. He is very
intelligent, and is already learning to be housebroken and crate
trained. He is also learning to walk on a leash, and he
likes to let you know when he wants to go for a walk by holding
the leash for you. He loves attention, but in typical puppy
fashion, will chew anything in sight.
Otto's new family must be
prepared to take him through obedience training and to socialize
him properly with people and other dogs. He is strong
willed, and needs to learn some doggie manners. After his
scary experience in the animal shelter, he can be protective of
his food. He would probably do best in a home without small
children. Although he only weighs a mere 35 pounds now, Otto
will grow to be a big boy. The more obedience training his
owners do with him while he is young, the better behaved boy he
will be as he matures. German Shepherds live to be 10-15
years old, so Otto wants a home where he will be a part of the
family for the rest of his life. Can you help Otto to
realize his dreams of finding a happy home?
