Raggedy Anne

One of our volunteers had gone to an animal shelter to rescue a young dog.  Just as she was leaving, a shelter volunteer shyly approached her and asked her if she would come look at another dog -- an older dog -- a dog whose time would run out that very night.  One look into those pleading shepherd eyes was all it took for our volunteer to know that this old gal could not be left behind.

Raggedy Anne is a 5-6 year old black and tan female who deserves a chance at happiness.  She has a slim build and a black and silver coat that will soon be restored to full glory.  This poor girl appears to have been left outside in a filthy yard because flies have literally "tattered" her ear tips.  She wears the scars of her past life well, though, and has a very forgiving nature.  Raggedy Anne knows how to sit and lie down. Because Raggedy Anne was never socialized around other dogs at all, she requires a home where she is the only dog, and probably one without cats or small children.  She would make an ideal choice for a retired couple or someone who wants a very loyal companion but does not come in contact with a lot of other dogs or cats.

Raggedy Anne is looking for a special person who will open their heart and allow her in.  If you are interested in adopting her, please fill out an application by clicking on the button below.

We knew when we took Annie in that it would probably take us a while to find her a special home, but we didn't want to see her destroyed that very night.  Can you please help us to defray the costs of her daily board while she waits for a place to open up in our rescue?  Raggedy Annie's housing costs us $70.00 per week.  Please click here to find out how to make a donation towards her care!
