German Shepherd Rescue of Los Angeles

Raksha is very unusual - he is a coal black long haired shepherd with tan paws. He is extremely handsome. This beautiful guy is about 3 and a half years old. He is housebroken, has basic obedience training and loves walks. He also loves to play in the rain - which is wonderful if we ever get any here!! He is looking for a home and a family to love and protect. He would probably do best in a home with older children. It may take him a while to get to know you, but once he does, he will be loyal forever. He will play with you, follow you everywhere, and protect you for life.

Raskar was adopted from our rescue a few years ago. His owners just had a new baby, and they decided that they didn't want Raskar any longer. Although he seems to be fine with children, they decided that they did not trust him.

This is just another example of why we urge people to carefully consider their decision to adopt a dog BEFORE bringing the dog into their family. These wonderful dogs are heartbroken when their people no longer want them. They lose their home through no fault of their own. Please don't let this happen to your pets. If you are going to start a family in a couple of years and feel that a pet will not fit in with a baby in the household, please do not adopt the pet in the first place!
