Roto (aka Dakota)

Nope, your eyes are not deceiving you!  This is not a German Shepherd, but a beautiful, 3 year old, gentle Rottweiler.

Roto came to us a few months ago in terrible condition.  He was rescued from an industrial yard where he was tied up with no food, no water, and no shelter.  He had an open wound on his leg, his ears were bleeding from years of neglect, and he had such a bad infection in his eyes that they were sealed shut with goop and he could not even see his rescuers.  But he went along with them like a gentle lamb.

After a week at the vet where he received good, compassionate medical care (not to mention daily walks by his devoted rescuer), he was ready for a home.  And within 24 hours, he found one!  Unfortunately he has turned out to be "too mellow" for his owner (!!!!!).  Instead of hiking the canyons, he'd rather hike to Petco!  According to his owner, he is a fabulous companion, housebroken, well mannered, and he gets along with other dogs and is good with cats.  But he'd rather snooze in the sun than run a marathon.  Hey, we can relate to that!!
