Rusty

When it came time to pick a name for this little guy, we could not decide between "Rusty" or "Lover Boy".  His beautiful black and red markings made us think "Rusty", but his complete love of people made us think "Lover Boy".

So, "Rusty the Lover Boy" it was...  This darling boy is about 4 months old, and as sweet as they come.  He already weighs about 30 lbs, so it appears he will be a big boy.  German Shepherd Rescue received a call about a darling puppy in a horrific shelter, where without our help, he had no chance of getting out alive.  One of our volunteers was there the next morning to save this little sweetie.

The next day, another volunteer and her little one spent some time with Rusty the Lover Boy...  And Boy-Oh-Boy does he like little kids!!!!  We mean, he LOVES kids!!!  All he wanted to do was snuggle with this little 3 year old girl (see the pictures).  While Rusty may be a lover, even at his tender age he already knows his job as a German Shepherd.  When a
snapping and growling terrier ran up to the little girl in the photographs, Rusty got between them to protect the girl.  He made sure that the aggressive little dog was not able to hurt the child that he felt responsible for watching over.  He is such a loving, sweet and devoted little guy.  All he needs is a family of his own...

Please keep in mind, adopting a puppy is a HUGE commitment.  They will eat your shoes, dig up your flowers, beg for food and maybe even devour your sofa... but they will also give you a lifetime of unconditional love!  Rusty the Lover Boy is looking for his forever family to love him unconditionally for the next 12 to 15 years.  Could you be that lucky family?

Rusty is in a boarding facility.  If you wish to meet him, please click on the button below and fill out our online adoption application, send an email to ShawnGSDRescue@aol.com, or call (714) 206-9002 and ask about Rusty.
