German Shepherd
Rescue got a frantic call from a Good Samaritan: A German Shepherd
Dog and a Cocker Spaniel had been thrown onto a busy freeway by
their callous owner! As traffic swerved to avoid them, the
loyal dogs tried desperately to follow their owner's car!
The police were notified, but since no license number had been
captured, they could not help.
Thankfully, the caller was able
to scoop them both into her car and save them from certain
death. Both dogs were covered in ticks and fleas from head
to toe, and it was obvious that they had not seen a good meal in a
very long time. Without hesitation, German Shepherd Rescue
agreed to take the shepherd sight unseen. (The Cocker
Spaniel went home to live with her rescuer's mother.)
Shakira is a beautiful black and
tan girl, approximately 10 months old. She is sweet and
loving, grateful for any drop of attention bestowed on her.
She has not had any training, but responds very well to
praise. Shakira is currently at our vet getting
"de-bugged", inside and out! She will receive all
of her shots, and be spayed and de-wormed this week so that she is
all set for a brand new start. Could you please be the one
to give this poor girl the break she deserves after enduring such
a horrible beginning?
Shakira desperately needs a
sponsor to help defray her medical costs and the costs of her
boarding ($70.00 per week). If you can help in any way, your
donation will go directly to her care. No gift is too
small. No kindness unnoticed.
