This big ol' bubba is Shaq -- a jet black male, approximately 3 years old. Shaq currently weighs around 82 pounds but with proper nutrition and good care, he should weigh in around 100 pounds. He has a large, statuesque frame and the kind of classic good looks that this breed is known for. Despite his size, Shaq is a big baby! He walks well on a leash, and is housebroken. He loves children, and licks their faces to show his affection. When we rescued him from an animal shelter, he was in a kennel with 2 other big dogs and he was the mellowest one! Shaq likes dogs his own size but is not a big fan of small dogs or cats. He would be fine in a multi-dog home as long as the dogs were large and friendly.

Shaq is going to be a spectacular looking dog, but the most striking thing about him is his wonderful personality. Please come and meet him to see if you can find a place -- okay, a very LARGE place -- in your heart for him.

Shaq's dreams came true when a family with many children adopted him. He used to sleep under the infant's bed and run to alert the adults when the baby was crying. He is wonderful with children of all ages. However, by a sad twist of fate, the baby was diagnosed as being allergic to him, so the family that he so loved was forced to return him to us. This wonderful dog MUST go to a special home with nice children that he can love.
