"Aloha Everyone,
"My name is Kailua and I
was born on the Big Island of Hawaii. I have a very interesting
story to tell you about me, you see, I’m one lucky pup.
"I lived on the beach or
wherever we could find a place to camp. My family is homeless so
we moved around a lot. It was very hard getting by each day with
very little food. I even had to be tied to a tree with a rope
because my family could not afford to buy me a leash and collar.
"One day this couple
from California walked by and took one look at me. Of course,
they came over to pet me. One of the men that was living with us
said “you can have him for $20.00.” I didn’t know it then but he
was talking about me. They were looking to get rid of me!
"The nice people from
California said they weren’t in a position to take me that day,
but they would come back in a few days and if they could find us,
they would take me. Well, a few days went by, and then finally
the couple came back for me. I was so happy to see them. They
took me right to the Vet to be examined and get me my puppy
shots. The nice Vet, Dr. Webb said I was very healthy considering
that I wasn’t getting the nutrients a growing puppy needs. You
see, I still have my puppy teeth.
"I stayed at the Vet’s
Office until my new foster family could make arrangements for me
to fly to California. I thought that day would never come but
before I knew it, a very nice lady by the name of Mary picked me
up and took me to the airport. I got to ride on an airplane to
John Wayne Airport.
"Once in Orange County,
my foster mom picked me up, and introduced me to my foster
brothers and sisters. I’m staying with them until I find my
forever home. They promised me I would be adopted by a wonderful
loving family, who will take care of me and give me lots of good
food and even a pretty collar to wear.
"Mahalo or as we say in
California………Thank you!!! Like I said, I’m one lucky pup.
"P.S. I have been in
California for one week and I’m already crate trained and potty
trained. I love all dogs, people and kids and I’m learning what I
can and can’t chew. I’m so lucky because I have lots of toys to
play with. I’m also very good about sharing food with other dogs
and have a very good appetite. One other thing I forgot to
mention, I’m not a German Shepherd but I love my German Shepherd
Foster Sister. We’re not sure what I am yet but I am definitely
adorable, very sweet and smart just like German Shepherds."
