Leah

Meet Leah, a classically beautiful black and tan shepherd girl who is around 18-24 months old.  Leah is long, lean and graceful.  She will probably fill out to be around 60-65 pounds at full weight.  She has tons of puppy energy and is learning to play nicely with her male shepherd roommate.  She can be particular about the dogs that she likes, and seems to prefer male dogs.  She is housebroken and crate trained, and very well behaved in the house.  She will bark at a cat, but does not seem to want to chase them.

Leah did not have the best of care in her former home -- when we rescued her, it was obvious that an ear infection had gone untreated, and her coat was dry and brittle.  Now that she is safe with German Shepherd Rescue, she will get the veterinary care and good nutrition that she needs.

Leah came to us thanks to the concern and kindness of several employees at a crowded animal shelter.  They told us that when Leah was in a cage with several other large dogs, the larger dogs were keeping her away from the food and water bowls, so they put her in a cage by herself and kept her safe from harm until we could save her.  She is yet another beautiful, young purebred shepherd that was picked up as a stray without a collar or tags.

Leah is in a foster home.  If you are interested in meeting her, please click on the button below and fill out our online adoption application.
