Ahoy, Matie! This comical kid is Pirate -- a silly 2 year old bundle of energy. An interesting combination of genes -- 50% German Shepherd and 50% red Doberman -- give Pirate beautiful amber-colored markings that match his beautiful eyes. Although he's going on 2 years old, Pirate behaves like a puppy in every way -- he would do best in a very active family with a big yard and plenty going on -- preferably a family with kids that he can entertain and supervise. Pirate is housebroken and gets along well with other friendly dogs. He is EXTREMELY quick to learn new things and he graduated top in his Obedience Class. Anyone who has owned a very intelligent dog knows that you need to keep these kids busy and active, because they are smart enough to get into mischief if they get bored. He currently has a female dog companion, so he would love to have a buddy his own size to romp with.

Pirate is losing his home because he jumps the family's 6 foot fence to go exploring. He always goes to the schoolyard and always follows kids home, but his family feels that he needs a home that is more suited to his energy and intelligence level. He would make an EXCELLENT agility or therapy dog because he likes to have a job to do.
