This beautiful boy was a stray running the streets with no identification when he was picked up by animal control.  He sat in the shelter patiently waiting for his owner to claim him... that never happened.  He was put up for adoption and adopted a short time later.  Almost two months later, this same family walked this sweet boy back into the shelter to turn him back in.  The excuse... Ryder was barking outside and they did not understand why, since they were only leaving him alone outside a whopping 16 hours per day!  As if this was not enough, he was returned 20 pounds lighter than when he was adopted a little under two months ago.  The shelter then felt his time was up, so our volunteer stepped in and rescued this handsome boy.  Now that Ryder is safe with German Shepherd Rescue, he will get all the walks and food he needs to put back some of the much needed weight.  His first meal at the rescue was gone in seconds!

Ryder adores children and has a big heart.  He is just loaded with love and lots of energy.  He gets along with dogs that he knows, but is unsure of new dogs, so he would have to be carefully introduced to a potential brother or sister.  With all that he has been through, he is happy, playful and full of life.  He is housebroken but would benefit from an obedience class.  Can you resist these beautiful eyes?
