Hurley

Hurley is a petite beauty who enjoys the company of other dogs her own size. She is approximately 1 year old, housebroken and good with kids. We think she would do best in a family that is familiar with spirited and curious shepherds, as she has plenty of energy and a hint of mischief. Hurley is probably full grown at 60 pounds. She has a pretty coat and a nice build.

Hurley originally came to us because her owner was called into military service in Iraq and the family did not have the time or energy to manage a young puppy. German Shepherd Rescue immediately placed her in a family; however, the family has decided that THEY also don't have time for this sweet girl! We are all positively heartbroken that, by no fault of her own, Hurley has lost TWO families, and all the GSR volunteers have vowed that we will find someone to cherish Hurley so that she can feel safe and secure. Please help us to make the third time the charm for this very young dog.

Hurley has an eye condition called 'Pannus'.  This is very common in German Shepherds.  She requires daily eye drops to keep her eyes from becoming cloudy.  The eye medication is very important, or she will lose her vision.  Click here to read more about Pannus, which is an easily treatable condition.

PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU ADD ANY ANIMAL COMPANION TO YOUR FAMILY! Our pets are completely dependent on us to love and care for them for their ENTIRE LIVES, not just while it is convenient!

To arrange to meet Hurley, please email johnandebhancock@aol.com and complete an online application to expedite the process if you are interested in adopting one of our beautiful dogs.

I want to go HOME!!
