Poor Danny just can't catch a break! He has been waiting for his forever home for almost a year because he prefers a woman-only home. As if this wasn't sad enough, recently we discovered that Danny's hip dysplasia was causing him significant pain so our orthopedic specialist advised us to take steps to improve Danny's quality of life. We were advised that Danny would do well with a salvage procedure known as an FHO, which involves a reshaping of the hip socket to relieve stress on the joint. Because Danny was in obvious discomfort, our vet agreed to perform the surgery "on credit" while we work to raise the money for these services.
We are happy to report that Danny is recovering well from his surgery in the warm surroundings of a foster home. He is still wearing the "cone head" to keep him from nibbling at his incision, but he is putting some weight on his leg for limited periods of time. We are truly grateful to Dr. George Katcherian for being there for Danny at his time of greatest need. Now, we need your help to raise $1500.00 to pay for Danny's veterinary bills. Any amount will be sincerely appreciated and will go directly toward Danny's fund. To make a secure donation in any amount, please click here and indicate that your gift of love is for Danny, the brave boy who has not given up hope that he will find a loving home.
Danny's special home will be adult only, with female family members preferred over male family members. We are not sure what trauma Danny suffered prior to arriving in our care, but we know that he is very fearful of men and of children, so we want to find him a situation where he can relax and feel safe. Danny will return the kindness with devotion and companionship. He is a truly loving boy who endured something horrible in his past.
Danny is in a foster home while he waits for his forever home. To arrange to meet him, please contact mdalescomm@aol.com and complete the online application to expedite the adoption process.
