Spike

Spike is a beautiful 4 year old shepherd boy who had a horrible life. He was neglected and lived his entire 4 years in an 8 x 12 dog run. He was starving and dehydrated when a family member finally stepped in. She rescued Spike and two other small dogs living with Spike in horrible conditions.

Since she lives in an apartment, her next feat was to find someone to take care of Spike. A friend offered to care for Spike for one week. She spent that time calling every rescue group she could find but no luck. Spike's time ran out as a house guest and he was on his way to a very high kill shelter in Carson.

As a last resort, she contacted a volunteer from German Shepherd Rescue and was literally in tears. Not only did she want to do the right thing for Spike but she was feeling terribly guilty for not stepping in sooner to remove Spike from his home. When she told the volunteer about her plight and the wonderful dog who deserves a good home, the volunteer could not allow Spike to end his life in a shelter.

Spike is now safe with German Shepherd Rescue and staying at a vet hospital. He was extremely dehydrated and was starving to death. He's currently on a special diet and needs to gain weight. We desperately need donations to help with the Vet bills and boarding costs to get Spike back on his feet and adopted into his new forever loving home. Please click here if you can assist with Spike's recovery.
Spike is very affectionate. In addition to small dogs, Spike appears to like cats also.
