Two of our volunteers were at a local animal hospital when a man walked in and asked, "Did anyone lose a shepherd?" We looked at each other and said, "No, but we'll take her!" She was running loose in an industrial area and had recently had surgery. One of the vets said that it looked like she had been spayed. After looking for her owners unsuccessfully, we adopted her to a loving family. They recently came under hard times and had to return her to us - with her puppy..... So now we have Faith and Bear - and we are confident that -- this time -- both have been spayed and neutered!
Faith is approximately 4 years old and a gorgeous black and tan female. Bear is a terrific 2 year old male. He's BIG and full of love.
We have decided to place them in seperate homes because Faith can be a little too bossy with Bear. We are not sure who (or what) Bear's daddy was - but he passed on some great genes! Bear is good with other dogs and possibly cats. He is not good with small children but older, dog-savvy children may be ok. Faith would prefer being the only dog in the home and would be best in an adult-only home with experienced Shepherd owners. She is very protective of her property and people. She takes a little while to warm up to people, but once she knows you then she is a squirming mass of kisses.
Faith and Bear are at our Burbank facility. If you are interested in meeting them, please fill out the online application.
