Duke is a gorgeous long-haired German Shepherd.  He is a large, 3 year old guy with a magnificent coat.  He was clean and well groomed.  He is very people-oriented and bonds quickly.  Duke howls when any of the volunteers leave.  He is so ready to attach himself to his new family.  He is very people oriented and loves belly rubs.  He is indifferent to children, so we think a home with adults would be best.

Duke loves to ride in the car and settles down nicely in the back seat.  He sits on command and if you have a treat he will sit faster.    Duke loves being inside and is completely housebroken.  Duke is a fabulous dog for the right home.  He would do really well with someone who is home so he can devote himself completely to that person.  Duke is very strong and needs a person experienced with big dogs.  Duke is not good with cats and doesn't seem to need another dog -- maybe it is just you he needs!

We just can't imagine how this dog, who has obviously had good care, ended up in a shelter.  We are asking a donation of $350 which will go into a medical account for sick and injured dogs.
