Harley’s story is one of recovery. Harley is a beautiful, male, 5 year old. He came to us from a shelter on his last day. They had kept him longer then planned because of his sweet personality and finally just didn’t have the room. We were lucky to have found him when we did. It is no secret that dogs get more anxious in kennels, shelters, and rescues. Harley is no different. Within a few weeks of being with us he seemed to be dropping weight fast and couldn’t eat fast enough. He was getting more anxious and began to feel like he was starving even though he was getting plenty to eat. After many trips to the vet and several different medication tries, he simply had severe anxiety. This led to issues with food, which after many weeks led to on leash protections issues. After many months of volunteers respecting his needs and working with him we are glad to report that he is recovering beautifully. He is gaining weight, warming up to many people, even giving kisses, and striving to go for walks. Obviously, an experienced owner is needed, and one that is calm and patient. Harley needs the structure and support that only a home can give. He deserves that and will wait for that person to come into his life and take him to his forever home.
