Pearly has an interesting back story. She was found in the woods with another dog and turned into a shelter. Based on their appearance it looked as though they were surviving together for several months. She was covered with scabs, ticks, fleas, had a cold, and is so underweight that her stamina is compromised. Her ears were especially bad, covered with scabs and slowly being eaten away. We were so fortunate to find her and have her as part of the GSR. She is one of the gentlest souls you will ever meet. She is good with other dogs. Her greeting style is submissive, but confident. If she likes the other dog she loves to play and use her paws to engage in play. When the dogs bark at her at the rescue she looks right up at me as if to see if everything is okay, and then she keeps moving while still checking in with me. Her instincts to look towards humans for direction are very strong and it’s going to make her an amazing companion. She loves to be brushed and lay in your lap. With all that said, you must remember that she is a very young dog, and is very playful for short amounts of time. When she gains some weight and gets her strength back, she will be like any other puppy that need lots of exercise, play, and training. Come see Pearla this weekend! She is waiting for her new home.
